'I honestly assumed any Japanese person could just wear and dress another person in a Kimono (Ignorant, I know). This was until I attended a barbecue (braai) at my Japanese friend’s house last summer. My friend introduced me to her aunt who has acquired the special skill of dressing kimonos through specialized training. Her aunt must have liked me because she offered to dress me in a kimono if I was interested and OF CAUSE I was haha (A dream come true) . And just like that she offered her Kimonos, her precious time (almost 3 hours) and skills to dress my entire family. She also shares some of her knowledge about the Japanese names of the components of a Kimono ensemble. She shares her food, her family and love at no cost and zero terms and conditions. Oh, she and her husband also adopted my kids. I must admit, my love and culture appreciation for Japan and the people\'s culture of kindness, hospitality and generosity keeps growing because of this kind of experiences. A kimono day for the whole family!!!'
