'Learn How to Draw a Fashion Figure with Ms. Rachel Materials: Pencil, Pencil Sharpener, Eraser, Ruler, Paper Optional: Magazine picture of standing model, Sharpie Marker Instructions: 1. Divide your page into 11 sections: Align the top edge of your ruler with the top of the page and make a mark at each inch along the ruler. Do the same thing on the other edge of the paper then connect the marks to create horizontal lines. 2. This will divide your standard 8.5” x 11” page into 11 sections. 3. In the 2nd section from the top, begin numbering each section 1 through 9. The top section and the bottom section on the page will not have numbers. 4. Now let\'s start drawing the body 5. Draw a vertical line from the top of the page to the bottom of the page. This is your balance line. it will help you create a symmetrical body. 6. Draw an egg shape for the head in the section labeled 1. The balancing line should be going directly through the center of this head. 7. In the 2nd section, draw a horizontal line halfway between the top and bottom line of the section. This will be your collarbone. 8. Draw two lines on either side of your balancing line that connects the head to the collarbone. This will be your neck. 9. Draw a slanted line from the outside of the neck to the outside of the collarbone. Do this on both sides to create your shoulder slope. 10. Draw a horizontal line 2/3 of the way down in the 3rd section. This is the waist line. This line should intersect your balance line and be even on each side. It should be more narrow than your collarbone line. 11. Draw diagonal lines to connect the collarbone line to the waist line. This will be your torso. 12. Draw a line the same with the waist line about one-third of the way into the 4th section. 13. Connect this line to the bottom line of your fourth section by drawing slanted lines from either side of the top line to the bottom of the 4th section. 14. The width that you draw these lines should not exceed the width of the shoulders. This will create a trapezoid for the pelvic area of the body. 15. Draw a small mark on the line between the 6th and 7th section that intersects your balance line. This will help you know where your knees will be drawn. 16. Draw a small mark on line that intersects your balance line between the 8th and 9th section. This will help you know where your ankles will be drawn. 17. Going back up to the top of the torso, draw a small circle to represent your shoulder joint. The circle should be small. It should touch the collarbone line but it shouldn\'t touch the the line that indicates the bottom of the section. 18. On the left side of the body draw another small circle right above the line at the bottom of the 3rd section. This indicates one of your elbows. 19. On the right side of the body draw a small circle in the middle of the 3rd section. This indicates the other elbow, this arm is bent. 20. On either side of your balance line on the line between the 6th and 7th section draw two small circles. The circles represent the knees. 21. On either side of the balance line on the line between the eighth and ninth section draw two small circles. The circles represent the ankles. 22. Please reference the video (or the reference images in the comments) to see how to draw curvy lines to connect the hips to the knees and the knees to the ankles. 23. Draw straight lines on either side of your shoulder circles to connect it to your elbow circle on both sides of the body. 24. On the left side of the body draw a small circle right under the line between the 4th and 5th section. This will be your left wrist. Connect the elbow to the wrist using straight lines. 25. On the right side of the body, draw a small circle in the middle of the 4th section. This will be your right wrist. Connect the elbow to the wrist using straight lines. 26. Draw trapezoid shapes to represent the hands. 27. On the left hand draw a triangle connected to the hand trapezoid to represent the fingers. 28. Now go and darken the outline of the whole sketch. 29. You can erase your inner sketch lines. You\'re done.'
