'G STAR RAW S/S 2011 FASHION SHOW - VIDEO BY XXXX MAGAZINE The Dutch design company know as G-Star Raw (specializing in raw denim) presented a modern, strong show at New York fashion week for Spring 2011. Functional and wearable denim pieces were mixed in with leather and more constructed garments creating a rather sophisticated urban direction. We loved the flowing floor length dress in indigo blue, as well as the strapless pant suits. The collection is full of drama with designs that exude the essence of punk from the eighties. The show opened with anticipation, as model Alice Dellal stomped down the runway topless, wearing little more than the animal-skin drum she was beating. Always one not afraid to shock, Hogg later had a model completely naked adorned with some nipple garnishing and a daring chastity belt. Inspiration was slightly primitive and very futuristic, think David Bowie\'s Space Oddity mixed with Barbarella. We saw a lot of metallic body suits, constructed body suits with dramatic belted elements juxtaposed with body revealing skin tight numbers. Always a brilliant show!
