'These cream caramels are so delicious that they are dangerous. You won\'t want to quit eating them. They are great for the holiday get togethers. Here\'s the recipe: 2 cups sugar 2 cups heavy cream 1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup corn syrup Coarse salt, if desired Mix together butter and half the cream and the syrup. Start warming. As butter is melting add the sugar. Stir and cook to a boil. Add second cup of heavy cream. Stir and bring to a boil. Be careful that you don\'t let it boil over. Monitor temperature with a candy thermometer and cook until it reaches 245 degrees. Pour into a buttered 8x8 pan. If desired, sprinkle coarse salt over top. Cool, cut into 1 inch square pieces and wrap in wax paper. Enjoy'
