'(16 Jan 1999) Natural Sound Donatella Versace launched her second haute couture fashion show in Paris on Saturday, after inheriting the empire her brother Gianni Versace left after his brutal death in Miami, Florida. Kate Moss was the star of the evening. The British model made her first appearance at a high fashion show after checking in for treatment for fatigue at a health clinic in Britain. Donatella Versace presented a more sober Versace look for the 1990s. Her clothes, always sexy and tight fitting, were mostly in leather or sparkling lace. Many of the fabrics used were sheer, but overall the collection was less provocative than her first show last July. There were many stiffened new synthetic fabrics on display, glittery dresses that stood out in corrugated effects. The colours featured most prominently were black, white and aluminium grey. Embroidery was carefully shaped into the molded clothes, from swimsuit-style evening wear to dresses with long trains. Some detailing was resolutely futuristic - glassy or plastic slats used like fringes or feathers. Black skin-tight trouser or hot pants were runway-wise if not street-wise. The real stars of the night were not the outfits modelled, but the models themselves. Kate Moss, Naomi Campell, Eva Herzigova, Nadia Aumann and Amber Valetta- the industry\'s supermodels- all took part in the show.
