'As part of Fashion Revolution Week we decided we wanted to better understand the gaps in knowledge between our makers, sustainable fashion advocated and the average consumer. Since launching an online store it has become more apparent to me that customers want to shop more sustainably but are put off by the cost. So, as part of our Bridging The Gap series we interviewed two of our Melbourne based brands, four sustainable fashion bloggers and five random lovely ladies in a cafe. Each was asked the exact same four questions: 1. What does Fashion mean to you? 2. How would you define Sustainable Fashion? 3. How often do you shop and why? 4. Who made your clothes? (The clothes they are wearing right now) For a final question, we asked our two brands to break down the cost of one of their pieces in a current collect. We did this to better understand the cost of manufacturing an ethical piece of clothing and why the RRP is often more than on the high-street. Then, using the breakdown the brands gave us. We asked the sustainable fashion bloggers and ladies in the cafe to guess the RRP, did they see the value? You will find out in upcoming posts. Here is our interview with the lovely, Esther Kirwan of Theo The Label'
