'(7 May 2019) THE 2019 MET GALA CAMP THEME SAW KACEY MUSGRAVES AS A HIGH-FASHION BARBIE, NICK JONAS AND PRIYANKA CHOPRA IN SPARKLING SHOES AND HAILEY BIEBER IN A JAW-DROPPING BACKLESS DRESS Stars used the 2019 Met Gala theme of camp to be outlandish and extravagant as they wore voluptuous gowns, excessive headpieces and daring designs. Tracee Ellis Ross posed inside a gold picture frame attached to the front of her black dress. She noted it\'s detachable for the dinner hour, thank goodness. Naomi Campbell wore pink with a long, feathered cape, lace leggings and low barely-there neckline. Newlyweds Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were in sharp form for the evening. Chopra wore a sheer, silver gown accented by a cape and ombre feathers. She and Jonas\' feet sparkled: her in glimmering pumps and him in sparkling Christian Louboutin boots. Moschino, by Jeremy Scott, was a popular designer for the evening, dressing Kacey Musgraves, Gwen Stefani, Katy Perry and others. Kacey Musgraves, in custom Moschino, was a proper pink Barbie with long platinum hair. Gwen Stefani wore fishnet stockings under a white bodice, overlaid with jewels. She accessorized with a jeweled white fur coat that trailed behind her like a royal cape. Regina King, in a copper sequin Oscar de la Renta gown with a large shoulder embellishment, said she wasn\'t ready to go full camp, so she stuck to high lacquered hair. She wasn\'t the only to play it somewhat safe. Hailey Bieber wore a lovely, tight pink dress with a daring - but not terribly campy - low back. Also not particularly camp: Gwyneth Paltrow in a loose ruffle-neck pale yellow gown by Chloe.
