I loved the Jersey dresses and evening, I loved all their satin flippy skirts. I think that he was so smart to differentiate Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci was much younger and sexier and more of a nightclub, beach girl and this was really chic, feminine clothes, I thought it was sensational.\" STORYLINE: TOM FORD MAKES A COMEBACK Super sophistication and body-hugging styles made news at Monday\'s show of summer ready-to-wear for Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche designed by Tom Ford. Ford, the American who managed to rejuvenate Gucci, seems to be making a comeback at YSL. His debut there following Yves Saint Laurent\'s retirement was shaky - mainly blacks and whites and little originality. This feminine show beginning with fitted details on a short taupe leather jacket and beige paneled skirt had plenty of pizzazz. New and lighter shades of colour here included pastel lavender satin tops or skirts, plus swingy beige skirts with little ruffles down the side. This was a gentler, more subtle and springlike collection than Ford has shown in the past. The hard edges have turned soft in fitted sensuous leather jackets with satin skirts, lingerie-style bikinis, dresses with gentle lines in burnt-out see-through fabrics. Excellent pencil pants with see-through tops (pasties for modesty), capes sewn with feathery wing effects over short black crepe dresses, a bow to the Saint Laurent tuxedo traditions, with a toreador-style pantsuit - all made for festive clothes that should do YSL proud.
