Parsons School of Design (http://newschool.edu/parsons) at The New School (http://newschool.edu) hosted Fashion Revolution on Sunday, November 19th, to partake in a special screening of the film happening in 20 cities worldwide, followed by a lively panel discussion. We will be examining the destruction of our rivers, its effect on humanity, and the solutions that inspire hope for a sustainable future. You might know him from the shows Guy Code and Girl Code. His other credits include The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Comedy Central\'s \"Live at Gotham,\" The Colbert Report, Nurse Jackie, Girls, Broad City, and, most recently, the Golden-Globe winner, The Affair. College Humor\'s go-to Obama, Jordan can also be counted on for a presidential impression with over a million YouTube clicks and counting. PANELISTS: Carry Somers After the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh in 2013, Carry Somers was inspired to act and started the movement called Fashion Revolution ¾ a global coalition in 100 countries calling for systemic reform of the fashion industry. For the previous 20 years, Carry’s fashion brand Pachacuti had pioneered radical supply chain transparency, mapping the GPS coordinates of each stage of the production process, from the community plantations where the straw grows, through to each Panama hat weaver\'s house. Carry has contributed to several books and publications, and won numerous awards for her work. Roger Williams Roger Williams is a passionate filmmaker as well as the CEO and President of IIPC, Inspired Image Picture Company Inc. He is the Producer and Cinematographer for RiverBlue, a feature documentary exposing the fashion industry’s environmental impact on the world’s major waterways. His production credits also include Hollywood & Vines, The Lodge, Forbidden Places, Silent Witness, a Gemini award-winning documentary for the Discovery Channel, and The Rise and Fall of Bruce McNall, a Gemini award-winning documentary for TSN, among others. Marci Zaroff Marci Zaroff is an internationally recognized ECOlifestyle entrepreneur, educator, innovator and expert. She is the founder of leading sustainable fashion lifestyle companies MetaWear and Under the Canopy, Executive Producer of the THREAD documentary, and co-founder of Good Catch Foods, BeyondBrands and The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. A key figure in the development of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and first Fair-Trade Textile Certification, Marci is a board member of the Organic Trade Association, Textile Exchange and Cradle to Cradle\'s Fashion Positive.
